"account": "Veteran correspondent Christiane Amanpour announced her departure from CNN after a 43-year tenure as one of the network's leading international journalists. Born in Britain, Amanpour rose to prominence for her coverage of the 1991 Gulf War, following Iraq's 1990 invasion of Kuwait. She has since interviewed numerous world leaders and reported from conflict zones including Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Rwanda, and the Balkans. Amanpour, 68, cited her desire for increased independence as CNN merges with Paramount Skydance, a move that has raised concerns due to the merged company's close ties to US President Donald Trump. Her daily CNN show will now air once a week until June, and her PBS program will conclude. Amanpour expressed her commitment to maintaining CNN's independent journalism standards and looks forward to future opportunities. CNN CEO Mark Thompson praised Amanpour for her 43 years of remarkable journalism, loyalty, and friendship.",
