"account": "Apple's newest software update for HomePod, dubbed HomePod Software 27.2, introduces a feature called Sound Glow to existing HomePod models, including HomePod mini, HomePod mini 2, and the original HomePod. Initially exclusive to the HomePod mini 2, Sound Glow is now accessible to second-generation HomePod and the original HomePod mini. The software update is available as a release candidate for developers and beta testers and is expected to launch next week. Once updated, users can enable Sound Glow in the HomePod settings or use the Apple TV Control Center if their HomePods are paired with an Apple TV. When activated, Sound Glow causes the top of a HomePod or HomePod mini to emit pulsating colors synchronized with the music or audio being played, drawing hues from album artwork. The feature supports various audio sources, such as songs, podcasts, Apple's ambient music feature, and more. Notably, Sound Glow is not compatible with the original HomePod. Additionally, the update enables HomePods to function as the default speaker for Macs, allows HomePods or HomePod mini 2s to serve as surround sound for Apple TV, and introduces a Lock Controls feature to disable touch interactions with the top of the HomePod.",
