"account": "The Kansas basketball team has bolstered its roster with the signing of former Purdue star and Minnesota Timberwolves draft pick Trey Kaufman-Renn just weeks before the 2026-27 season begins. The college athlete is currently eligible for another season after receiving a favorable court ruling, adding depth to the Blue Devils' frontcourt.\n\nKaufman-Renn was selected 59th overall by the Timberwolves in the 2026 NBA Draft, but never signed an NBA contract. His eligibility was secured through a preliminary injunction granted by a judge on October 9, allowing him to continue his college career while his case proceeds. Standing at 6-foot-9, the forward brings a wealth of experience to the Jayhawks, having spent five seasons at Purdue, where he averaged 20.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game and earned first-team All-Big Ten honors in the 2024-25 season.\n\nNot only does Kaufman-Renn provide the team with a proven interior scorer and rebounder, but he also fills the void left by freshman Grant Mordini, who suffered a season-ending patellar tendon injury. The coach, Bill Self, is confident that Kaufman-Renn's basketball IQ and experience will enable him to quickly adjust to the fast-paced college basketball environment, providing the Jayhawks with a dependable option in the frontcourt as they prepare for the new season.",
