"account": "In 2026, the year of bizarre comic book crossovers, Monstrous Books is bringing back the legendary comedy duo Abbott & Costello for a new trio of horror-themed team-up specials. The Kickstarter campaign for Abbott & Costello Meet the Monsters is now live, and IGN has exclusively debuted a preview of the first issue featuring the crossover with Kolchak the Night Stalker.\n\nThis marks the first new Abbott & Costello comics in over 50 years, with three new specials released in total. The other two team-ups include Abbott & Costello Meet the Morlocks and Abbott & Costello Meet Cthulu. These books feature the first appearances of Bud and Lou, the bumbling heroes, who accidentally stumble through an experimental portal in 1943, traveling through time to 1972 Las Vegas.\n\nThe first issue of Abbott & Costello Meet the Monsters, written by James Aquilone, is set to begin with these classic comedy characters in black and white, paying homage to their movie appearances, before transitioning to full color when they arrive in the future. They are expected to cross paths with reporter Carl Kolchak and the vampire Janos Skorzeny in Las Vegas, 1972. The Kickstarter campaign for this special is live, and fans can follow the progress on IGN.",
