"account": "On October 17, 2026, prominent figures in Nigerian politics met in Rivers State to discuss peace and future electoral arrangements. Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Rivers State lawmakers, and local government chairmen convened at Governor Siminalayi Fubara's residence. The Federal Government has challenged the World Bank's claim of N7.7tn in interest payments for the first half of 2026, stating that the methods used to assess debt sustainability are inaccurate. Additionally, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde's assertion that the Federal Government is withholding N250bn in NLNG dividends has been disputed by the Presidency, who claims the figure would exceed NLNG's lifetime dividend payments. In sports news, Algerian fans attacked a coach and damaged stadium facilities after MC Alger lost to Enugu Rangers in a CAF Champions League match. Finally, the faith-based Nollywood film Agbara Nla: The Return earned over N307.2m at the box office in 2026, becoming the fourth-highest-grossing Nigerian film of that year. Meanwhile, actress Tenia Abraham, a former Beauty Queen South South, passed away at the age of 32.",
