"account": "A 73-year-old man in Singapore was sentenced to 13.5 years in prison on October 19 for sexually abusing his biological daughter, who was between the ages of 10 and 13 when the abuse began. The victim, now 15, disclosed the abuse to a friend who then told a teacher, leading to the case being reported to the Child Protective Service and the police. The man pleaded guilty to four charges of aggravated statutory rape, molestation, and sexual exploitation of a child, with six additional charges taken into account. He is alleged to have repeatedly exposed his daughter to pornography and then sexually assaulted her. Despite his advanced age, the prosecution argued that his systematic exploitation of his daughter warranted a lengthy sentence, while the defense sought a shorter term. The judge considered the young age of the victim and the severity of the abuse, as well as the fact that the offender was in a position of trust with the victim, when determining the sentence. The man cannot be flogged due to his age, but must serve the full 13.5-year term.",
