"account": "The Oklahoma City Thunder have reportedly reached a five-year, $139 million contract extension with rookie guard Cason Wallace, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. The extension comes just in time for Wallace, who turned 22 this season and will serve as the Thunder's top point-of-attack defender as Lu Dort transitions to a new team.\n\nWallace's performance last season was nothing short of impressive, averaging 8.6 points and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 43.2% from the field and an impressive 35.1% from beyond the arc. His hard-hitting ability was also on full display, as he recorded a league-leading 150 steals during the campaign.\n\nHis abilities on both ends of the court led to the All-Defensive Second Team selection, showcasing his dual-threat ability that will only grow more valuable as the Thunder attempt to rebuild their roster following the recent cost-cutting moves. With the team now under $6.9 million under the second apron, Wallace's new deal shows confidence in his potential to lead the Thunder into a championship-caliber team, alongside the likes of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the other key players under team option for the 2027-28 season.",
