"account": "The OKC Thunder have reached a five-year, $139 million contract extension with rookie Cason Wallace, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Wallace amassed career-best averages of 8.6 points and 2.6 assists per game last season, shooting 43.2% from the field and recording a league-leading 150 steals. His impressive defensive play earned him an All-Defensive second team selection. The agreement comes just in time for the 22-year-old guard to avoid restricted free agency next summer. The Thunder had until Monday to secure the deal and prevent Wallace from hitting free agency. This extension signals confidence in Wallace's abilities and positions the team well, as they parted ways with Lu Dort, Aaron Wiggins, and Isaiah Joe in a series of trades for seven second-round picks. The move saved the Thunder about $6.9 million, allowing them to stay under the luxury tax threshold while still fielding a championship-caliber roster. Options for Ajay Mitchell, Jared McCain, and Jaylin Williams are set to expire in the 2027-28 season, coinciding with the start of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's four-year, $285 million super maximum contract extension.",
