"account": "The inaugural chief of the Serious Crime Investigation Agency (SCIA), Kim Ji-yong, reaffirmed his commitment on Monday to end the politicization of investigations. Kim was appointed on Thursday following a major overhaul to the criminal justice system that reduced prosecutors' investigative powers.\n\nDuring a press conference, Kim acknowledged that abuses of investigative powers by the previous prosecution were primarily due to the politicization of investigations. He pledged that the SCIA would establish itself as an impartial agency by strictly adhering to fairness, neutrality, and procedural justice. Kim, who had previously vowed to prioritize ending the politicization of investigations when nominated, stated that the SCIA would ensure the public does not have to worry about its operations.",
