"summary": "The Presidency has dismissed claims made by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde that the Federal Government is withholding N250 billion in Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) dividends for each state. During a budget engagement at the University of Ibadan, Makinde alleged the funds would not be released until after the 2027 general elections and claimed the Federal Government had already spent the money.\n\nBayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, described the governor's claims as false and urged Nigerians to disregard them. According to Daily Post Nigeria, the Presidency stated the claimed amount is inconsistent with historical NLNG dividend payments made to the Federation Account.\n\nThe Allied Peoples Movement Presidential Campaign Organisation has faulted the Presidency's denial. According to Punch, the organization’s Director of Strategic Communications, Richard Nnanna Ihediwa, challenged the Tinubu administration to publish relevant financial records to clarify the matter.",
