"account": "During a live-streamed mass in Guayaquil, Ecuador, a Catholic priest named Patricio Sanchez passed away on Saturday. The tragic incident occurred when a wooden crucifix fell from the wall and struck him on the head while he was celebrating mass. Churchgoers at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church were heard shouting, \"Father, Father! Call an ambulance!\" shortly before the live-streamed broadcast abruptly ended. The footage of the service displayed the heavy crucifix detaching from the wall above the altar and striking Father Sanchez in the head. It appears he did not notice the falling object. The graphic video quickly spread across social media and was extensively reported by various news outlets. The Archdiocese of Guayaquil conveyed their grief over the priest's death in a statement, expressing their condolences and solidarity with his family and friends. The statement confirmed that Father Sanchez belonged to the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, a Roman Catholic religious order active in 80 countries, but provided no further details about the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise. Local authorities have yet to comment on the incident.",
