"account": "Two individuals lost their lives when a galamsey pit collapsed on them at Sefwi Datano in the Western North Region's Bodi District. The victims, Kwaku Charles and Nana Dibi, were reportedly in their early thirties and were believed to be digging for gold where they often worked. A third person, currently missing, was also present at the time of the incident. Upon hearing the distress call, community members and residents rushed to the scene, with an excavator deployed to help rescue the trapped miners. However, one victim's head was severed before the bodies could be recovered. Datano Unit Committee member Joseph Debrah confirmed the incident to Adom News, stating he alerted community leaders who organized a rescue effort, which involved the police joining in. The bodies were later taken to the Juaboso Government Hospital mortuary for preservation. Further investigations are set to uncover the details surrounding the tragic event. The loss has deeply saddened the Sefwi Datano community, generating renewed concerns over the risks associated with illegal small-scale mining.",
