"account": "The Big 12 has admitted that one second should have been added back to the clock after Notre Dame’s final play in their 28-24 loss to BYU. The final play involved CJ Carr throwing a pass intended for Jaden Greathouse. It appeared that BYU cornerback Evan Johnson could have been penalized for pass interference. However, no flag was thrown. According to the conference’s statement, the play was incorrectly cleared by the replay officiating crew. The Big 12 will conduct a complete review of its end-of-game officiating process ahead of next week’s games. While this added second may not guarantee a Notre Dame victory, it would have given the Fighting Irish one last opportunity to score in the end zone. This is the third significant final-second controversy of the season. In Week 1, the Big Ten failed to follow protocols when adding a second to the clock for Michigan’s game-winning Hail Mary. In Week 5, Idaho ended Montana State’s 19-game win streak after a second was added back to the clock.",
"summary": "There was clearly a second left when CJ Carr's pass into the end zone to Jaden Greathouse hit the turf.",
