"account": "KFC is switching from Pepsi to Coca-Cola as its beverage partner in the United States, marking the end of a 40-year partnership with PepsiCo, according to RT. The new deal was announced on October 15, with KFC planning to transition its drinks menu to Coca-Cola products starting in January 2027. By spring 2027, all of KFC's approximately 3,600 US restaurants are expected to serve Coca-Cola. KFC's US outlets had served Pepsi drinks since PepsiCo acquired the chain in 1986, but the chain and its parent company, Yum Brands, remained with Pepsi until now. Catherine Tan-Gillespie, KFC US President, stated that the partnership aligns with the company's efforts to modernize the brand and enhance the customer experience. As KFC faces competition from restaurants like Chick-fil-A and Popeyes, which are attracting American diners, this shift could have significant implications. Financial analysts from Bank of America estimate a potential loss of about $500 million in annual sales for PepsiCo due to the loss of KFC. The Coca-Cola deal's financial terms were not disclosed. PepsiCo recently renewed its agreements with Taco Bell and KFC's international stores, indicating the cola giant's ongoing efforts to secure restaurant partners. The cola companies have a long history of competition, with newer brands such as Salaam Cola also vying for their business. In Pakistan, Coca-Cola has been a part of daily life for over seven decades.",
