"account": "The government has taken steps to curb the hoarding of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) ahead of winter, following reports that prices in the market were almost 50 percent higher than the rate set by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra). The Petroleum Division flagged irregular lifting of imported LPG from terminals, leading Ogra to direct provincial governments and federal authorities to ensure supplies at notified prices, particularly in remote and off-grid areas. Ogra has been asked to take swift corrective measures, including initiating enforcement action to prevent hoarding and ensure regular supply of LPG to demand centers at the notified prices. The government stated that a transparent mechanism for disposing of locally produced LPG through a competitive process would ensure a level playing field in the market, promote fair competition, and protect consumers' interests. However, progress on this proposal has been hampered by litigation.",
