"summary": "The Church Association of Nigeria (CAN) celebrated its 50th anniversary in Abuja with a thanksgiving service honoring former Head of State General Yakubu Gowon, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu. The ceremony, attended by notable figures such as Senator George Akume, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr Benjamin Kalu, was held to mark the milestone of CAN's 50 years of service to the Christian community and national development. Senator Tinubu received the Christian Icon Award, while Gowon, Obasanjo, Jonathan, and Osinbajo were honored with the Pillar of Faith Award for their contributions. CAN President Archbishop Daniel Okoh emphasized the importance of the Church speaking out against injustice, insecurity, and corruption, urging Christians to defend vulnerable Nigerians, IDPs, out-of-school children, and other marginalized groups.",
