"summary": "The General Operations Force (GOF) in Malaysia has detained a 49-year-old man in Pasir Mas for allegedly smuggling 20 cows from Thailand. The suspect, who claimed to have been working with an employer for the past year, was arrested in an operation conducted by GOF Strike Force Battalion 9, in collaboration with the Kelantan Veterinary Services Department (JPV). The man was apprehended on Jalan Kampung Lubuk Kawah, Pasir Mas, around 11:30pm yesterday while driving a lorry containing the 20 cows. However, he was unable to provide valid documents related to the transfer of the livestock. The investigation revealed that the cows were reportedly taken from Kampung Tok Rusa before being sent to a cow pen in Lubok Jong, Pasir Mas. The cows were seized due to suspicion of smuggling from Thailand through an unregistered route. The case is being investigated under Section 36(1) of the Animals Act 1953, and the arrest and seizure have been handed over to the Kelantan JPV for further action. The GOF has stated that they will continue to intensify patrols, inspections, and monitoring to combat the smuggling of livestock from Thailand through illegal bases and unregistered routes.",
