"account": "The New York Islanders' recent injury woes were compounded as forwards Matias Maccelli and Calum Ritchie suffered lower-body injuries during their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday. Neither player was able to continue in the contest. Maccelli, who signed with the Islanders earlier this season, had already demonstrated his offensive capabilities with two goals and four assists in his first seven outings. Ritchie, drafted a year ago, had a strong rookie campaign, tallying 13 goals and 17 assists in 65 games. The injury situation took a further toll as star center Mathew Barzal and defenseman Alexander Romanov are also sidelined. Barzal is recovering from a knee injury, which kept him out of the last 31 games of last season, while Romanov is expected to miss six-to-eight months after undergoing ACL surgery. The Islanders' healthy forwards, including recently returned Kyle Palmieri, will need to fill the void left by Maccelli and Ritchie.",
