"account": "In October 2025, gold surpassed oil, pharmaceuticals, and aircraft as the highest valued U.S. export. This shift occurred despite gold prices reaching record highs. By February 2026, the exported tons of gold may have reached an all-time record. Most of these exports go to Switzerland, primarily to refineries, with significant amounts also heading to Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. The U.S. government's gold reserves have remained stable, suggesting the exported gold is sourced from current production and recycling. While there is no official reason for this surge in exports, it is speculated that a large portion of the gold is being sent to China, possibly via Swiss refineries to ensure purity. Additionally, it is possible that the U.S. government has granted permission for this exchange in exchange for political concessions related to various global uncertainties.",
