"account": "Former Senator Joe Manchin has cautioned Democrats against launching investigations into President Donald Trump if they secure control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections, warning that such actions could backfire and lead to a Republican victory in 2028. Speaking to CNN host Michael Smerconish, Manchin stated, \"If they start with investigations, Michael, it’s over. They’re going to tee up everything in 2028 for a Republican takeover completely.\" He urged Democrats to prioritize addressing Americans' economic hardships, advocating for legislation aimed at lowering the cost of living rather than engaging in investigations that could distract from the party's message. Manchin's warning comes as Democrats deliberate on how to utilize their potential majority in the House, with some calling for Trump's impeachment and others fearing that impeachment proceedings could overshadow economic priorities and backfire politically.",
