"account": "Researchers have employed drone-based laser scanning to locate and document three previously undocumented Aboriginal rock shelters in the Australian Blue Mountains. These sites were identified using Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology, which generates detailed three-dimensional maps of the terrain. The Australian Museum and local stakeholders worked together to pinpoint potential locations and subsequently verify them through field visits. The research, published in Remote Sensing, emphasizes how aerial mapping can assist both Aboriginal communities and archaeologists in uncovering and safeguarding cultural heritage that may otherwise go unnoticed.",
"summary": "Researchers utilized drone technology to discover three previously unregistered Aboriginal rock shelters in the Blue Mountains region, revealing significant cultural heritage. Collaboration with the Dharug Custodian Aboriginal Corporation ensured accurate documentation of red hand stencils and stone artifacts. This innovative approach may improve archaeological surveys in difficult-to-navigate…",
