"account": "A deadly shooting erupted on a Manhattan subway platform on Saturday, claiming the life of a man and causing significant disruption to train services. The incident occurred around 12:20 p.m. at the 7th Avenue and 53rd Street station, situated near several Broadway theaters and Carnegie Hall. Police discovered an adult male victim with a gunshot wound to his chest. According to a police spokesperson, the shooting took place on the E train platform. It is believed the dispute involved two or three individuals. Emergency services rushed to the scene, transporting the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. At the time of reporting, no arrests had been made. Trains typically stopping at this station were temporarily rerouted as the police conducted their investigation. New York City has seen a steady decline in violent crime since the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, with reported homicides down by 20% compared to the same period last year. As of mid-October, the city was on track to record its lowest number of killings in decades, despite the subway system accommodating millions of daily passengers.",
