"account": "The G-100 Coalition, a group of opposition parties aiming to unite against President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, has announced that they may announce a single candidate just days or weeks before the poll. Convener Salihu Lukman, a former National Vice Chairman of the APC, spoke on Channels Television’s Hard Copy programme, expressing confidence in the commitment of the opposition parties to pick a consensus candidate.\n\nLukman stated that the opposition parties are working diligently to ensure a unified front, and the candidate could be revealed anywhere from a few days to two months before the election. The G-100 Coalition, established to encourage opposition parties to rally behind one presidential candidate, has expanded beyond its initial six member parties. The group is now focused on bringing more parties into the alliance and has formed five working groups to handle various aspects of the proposed collaboration. These groups will be responsible for the selection of the single presidential candidate. The biggest obstacle to forming a united front, according to Lukman, remains the lack of trust among opposition parties and their presidential candidates.",
