"account": "Former Progressives Governors Forum Director General Salihu Lukman has indicated that opposition parties could unite behind a consensus presidential candidate shortly before the 2027 general election. Speaking on Channels Television's Hard Copy, Lukman expressed confidence that parties would agree on a common candidate, despite lingering disagreements and trust issues among their leaders. He stated that negotiations were expanding beyond the initial six parties and that the process had moved to the parties and their presidential candidates themselves. Lukman highlighted trust deficit as the main obstacle to reaching an agreement. He also warned against inflexible positions, stating that such a stance would work against opposition parties. Lukman emphasized that the objective was not to merge manifestos but to agree on a common minimum programme of action, which candidates would subscribe to in advance of the election.",
