"account": "According to prosecutors, the Northern Regional Police Command's special operations team, known as Red Maria, recently arrested four suspects and recovered 142 parcels of what they believe to be Indian hemp. The officers involved in the arrest refused a bribe of GHC50,000, which had been allegedly offered to them by the suspects. On October 15, 2026, at approximately 6:30 pm, the police team intercepted a mini commercial van driven by Alhassan Zeblim, 46, en route from Bimbilla to Tamale. The driver confessed that he was transporting the narcotics to Ibrahim Yussif, 34, a tricycle rider in Tamale. Ibrahim Yussif, 34, eventually arrived at an agreed location in the company of his brother, Bawa Yussif, 56. Mohammed Haruna, 32, was identified as the owner of the consignment and was also apprehended. All four suspects, along with the evidence, including the tricycle, have been turned over to the Regional Drug Law Enforcement Units for further investigation. The police command praised the officers for their quick action and integrity, encouraging similar conduct among their colleagues in the region.",
