"account": "Over 208 shacks were destroyed in Masinenge informal settlement, KwaZulu-Natal, when a fire broke out early one morning, according to a report. The fire has reignited concerns over the perils of dry, windy weather and heatwaves in the region. Ndabezinhle Sibiya, spokesperson for the MEC for Transport and Human Settlements, announced that officials from the provincial and national departments are collaborating to provide building materials to those affected. They are also prioritizing the profiling of victims to ensure those who lost their homes receive the necessary aid promptly. The Masinenge Slums Clearance Housing Project has already constructed over 882 permanent houses, with 586 residents already residing in the new double-storey homes. However, the department has cautioned residents against renting out their newly provided homes and returning to the informal settlement, which continues to face the threat of fires and flooding.",
