"summary": "Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced on Saturday that he will not seek to remain in office once his current term expires in 2030. Speaking at a graduation ceremony at the Egyptian Military Academy in the New Administrative Capital, the 71-year-old former army general described the matter as \"completely settled\" and stated there would be no discussion regarding it.\n\nSisi rejected speculation that the constitution could be amended to extend his rule, according to Haaretz. Dawn reports that Sisi stated the Egyptian constitution \"would not be touched.\"\n\nThe president, who has been in office since 2014, is currently serving a six-year term following 2019 constitutional amendments that extended presidential terms from four to six years. These amendments also included provisions allowing Sisi to run for an additional term, resulting in his re-election in 2023.",
