"account": "Rt. Rev’d Olufemi Familoni, the Anglican Bishop of the Missionary Diocese of Oyo South, addressed church workers in Oyo State on Sunday, urging them to remain committed to their service in God’s vineyard. At the licensing and commissioning of ten pioneering lay readers for the diocese at the Cathedral Church of St. John, Familoni emphasized the importance of faithfulness and deep commitment in working for God. He cautioned that it is better not to offer oneself for God’s service than to offer oneself without being faithful, as God values obedience over sacrifice. Familoni highlighted the biblical example of Saul, who spared the king and some spoils from the Amalekites under the guise of sacrificing them to God, as an illustration of the need for obedience. He encouraged the lay readers to see their role as a privilege and to be steadfast in their service, understanding that their example will inspire those who follow them. Familoni prayed for the pioneers to faithfully proclaim God’s word, serve with humility, and become effective instruments in expanding Christ’s Kingdom.",
