"summary": "Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stated on Saturday that his current presidential term will end in 2030. Speaking at a graduation ceremony for the Egyptian Military Academy, the 71-year-old president described the matter of his departure from office as completely settled and said it would not be discussed. Sisi also reaffirmed that the Egyptian constitution would not be touched or amended.\n\nThe president is currently serving a six-year term following his re-election in December 2023. According to the Jerusalem Post and Malay Mail, constitutional amendments approved in a 2019 referendum previously extended presidential terms from four to six years and allowed Sisi to seek a third term. Sisi, a former general, rose to power in 2013 after the military ouster of Egypt's first democratically elected president, Mohamed Morsi.\n\nMiddle East Eye reports that Sisi stated he will not leave the Egyptian state until it is capable of shouldering responsibility through its own people. The remarks were made at the academy located in the New Administrative Capital.",
