"summary": "Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stated on Saturday that his presidential term will end in 2030. According to Al-Monitor and Middle East Eye, Sisi said the matter of his departure from office is settled and will not be discussed, further reaffirming that the Egyptian constitution will not be amended. Ajel English noted that Sisi also detailed new plans for leadership selection.\n\nSpeaking at a Thursday graduation ceremony at the Egyptian Police Academy, Sisi addressed comments regarding Egypt's military expansion. The Jerusalem Post reports that Sisi revealed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously questioned why Egypt was purchasing weapons and increasing its armed forces. Sisi responded by stating that Egypt's military buildup is intended to safeguard national security and preserve peace in a turbulent region rather than to pose a threat to Israel.",
