"account": "Mahela Jayawardene became head coach of Mumbai Indians in 2017, a decision that would set the stage for an era of success. With his reputation for cricketing intelligence and composure, Jayawardene brought a new dynamic to the Mumbai Indians team. The partnership he formed with captain Rohit Sharma led to immediate results, with Mumbai clinching the 2017 IPL title. This victory showcased Jayawardene's influence, as the team demonstrated remarkable discipline and composure in overcoming Rising Pune Supergiant by a solitary run. Despite a disappointing season in 2018, Jayawardene's ability to rebuild and inspire his players became evident in 2019, when Mumbai won their second IPL title. The 2020 season saw Mumbai achieve one of the most dominant performances in IPL history, with Jayawardene overseeing a team that combined explosive batting with a devastating bowling attack. The 2020 triumph marked Jayawardene's third IPL title as head coach, cementing his legacy as one of the architects of Mumbai Indians' golden era. However, subsequent seasons brought challenges, with Mumbai missing the playoffs in 2021 and finishing at the bottom of the standings in 2022. Jayawardene eventually moved into a broader role as Global Head of Performance, overseeing cricketing operations across the franchise's international network. His return as head coach in 2025 marked another significant chapter, but a disappointing 2026 campaign led to his departure. Despite the ups and downs, Jayawardene's influence on Mumbai Indians remains undeniable. From memorable one-run victories in 2017 and 2019 to the commanding triumph of 2020, he helped shape the team into a force to be reckoned with under pressure. The trophies will remain as a testament to his coaching prowess.",
