"summary": "Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on Saturday that a supertanker caught fire following a massive explosion after striking a sea mine in the Strait of Hormuz. According to Euronews, the vessel was carrying more than two million barrels of oil. The IRGC navy accused the tanker of attempting to pass through an unauthorized route and turning off its radar and positioning systems to evade detection. While the exact location of the incident is unclear, Fars news agency released a video that appears to show the vessel ablaze.\n\nThe Daily Times reported that the Guards accused the vessel of attempting to cross the strait illegally. The incident occurs amid increasing attacks around the waterway and intensified Iranian strikes in response to a US blockade of Iranian ports, according to Hindustan Times - World News. The Strait of Hormuz serves as a critical transit point for global oil and gas.",
