"summary": "Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stated on Saturday that his presidential term will end in 2030. Middle East Eye reports that Sisi described the matter of his departure as settled and stated it would not be discussed, while also reaffirming that the Egyptian constitution would not be amended. Ajel English noted that Sisi also detailed new plans for leadership selection.\n\nSpeaking at a graduation ceremony at the Egyptian Police Academy, Sisi addressed previous concerns raised by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding Egypt's military expansion and weapon purchases. According to the Jerusalem Post, Sisi claimed that Netanyahu questioned why Egypt was arming itself.\n\nSisi responded to these inquiries by suggesting that Netanyahu should view Egypt's military capabilities as Cairo views Israel's strength, noting that he does not view Israel's strength as a threat. The president emphasized that Egypt's military buildup is intended to safeguard national security and maintain peace within an unstable region rather than being directed against Israel.",
