"account": "A New Mexico judge has dismissed two charges of criminal sexual contact with a minor and child abuse against actor Timothy Busfield, according to Deadline. The charges, brought against the veteran actor and director known for his work on thirtysomething, Field Of Dreams, and The West Wing, were invalidated due to the prosecutor's improper handling of the grand jury process, as Judge Joseph Montano explained. The allegations against Busfield surfaced in January 2026 when the family of two children working on the since-canceled Fox series The Cleaning Lady accused him of inappropriate touching, which he denied. Busfield voluntarily turned himself in to authorities after the charges were made public, and he has been on bail since then. The dismissal of the charges does not conclude the case against Busfield, as the judge gave District Attorney Sam Bregman the chance to pursue new criminal proceedings against the actor.",
