"summary": "The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has placed Bishop Alexander Ibezim of the Awka Diocese on a six-month leave of absence due to ongoing investigations within the diocese. This decision, announced in a letter dated October 13 by the Primate of the Church, Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba, was made following reports from administrative panels, including a visitation team led by the Dean of the Church of Nigeria. Ndukuba emphasized that the leave is an administrative measure, not a disciplinary action, and is intended to facilitate a thorough investigation, restore peace, and promote reconciliation in the diocese. During Ibezim's absence, Rt. Rev. Samuel Ezeofor, the Bishop of Aguata Diocese, has been appointed as Supervising Bishop of Awka Diocese and Coordinating Bishop of the Province of the Niger.",
