"account": "Jena Bishop avenged her previous defeat to Liz Carmouche, delivering a shocking upset and claiming the title of PFL Women’s Flyweight Champion on Friday. Their initial encounter took place in August 2025 during the PFL Charlotte event. Carmouche had previously dethroned Bishop in August 2025 by executing a first-round knockout, securing her victory in the 2025 PFL Women’s Flyweight Tournament. At Wintrust Arena, Bishop managed to even the score by defeating the former Bellator champion and UFC title challenger through a unanimous decision. Carmouche came close to forcing a stoppage in the first round, as she unleashed a barrage of punches and hammer fists while grappling on the ground. The referee seemed close to intervening, but did not. Throughout the match, Bishop showcased her grappling and jiu-jitsu abilities to gradually gain the upper hand. In the third round, she narrowly submitted Carmouche with a rear-naked choke after dragging her to the floor and taking her back. Carmouche managed to survive the final minute of the round in a disadvantaged position. All three judges scored the fight 48-47 in favor of Bishop, declaring her the new PFL Women’s Flyweight World Champion.",
