"account": "Kuala Lumpur, October 17 — Bersama leader Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has admitted to being one of the two individuals caught by Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) in Petaling Jaya on Thursday. In a public statement, Nik Nazmi acknowledged his mistake and confirmed that he was the man caught with an unrelated woman in an enclosed space. The leader of the party addressed the incident following reports of the Jais operation. Nik Nazmi explained that he and his colleagues had been discussing a project at their studio in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, before deciding to continue their meeting in Petaling Jaya. Upon the arrival of Jais officers, he and the woman were the only ones present. He emphasized that no indecent acts took place, which could have raised suspicion, and informed the Jais officer about the situation. Nik Nazmi offered his apologies to his wife, family, and all those affected by the incident. He also extended his apologies to Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama) for disappointing its members and supporters, recognizing that the issue has caused damage to the party. The leader pledged to cooperate with any legal process and accepted the party's decision, urging all parties to respect the legal process and avoid further media speculation.",
