"account": "Igwe Alfred Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, has urged President Bola Tinubu to prioritize eradicating hunger, unemployment, inadequate medical care, and insecurity throughout Nigeria. During the 2026 Ofala Festival in Onitsha, Achebe expressed concern that economic hardship had intensified since 2025, pushing more Nigerians into poverty. He emphasized the importance of civic responsibility, urging South-East residents to actively participate in the 2027 general elections. The festival, themed 'Oga n'Iru Deliberate Progress', celebrated over 500 years of Onitsha monarchy, embodying determination, courage, unity, and self-reliance. Achebe lamented that the past years, marked by uncertainties following elections, saw a steep decline in national wellbeing. He cited the World Bank's 2023 report, noting that 104 million Nigerians were classified as poor. The monarch also addressed the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria's concerns about national security and economic struggles, pleading with Tinubu to urgently address the dire situation.",
