"account": "Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade had surgery on an ankle injury in France on Friday, following a match in Nigeria’s 2028 Olympic qualifying tournament. The 26-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward suffered the injury during Nigeria’s 5-0 victory over Comoros in Ikenne, Ogun State, on Tuesday. The incident occurred in the 23rd minute when Ajibade collided with a Comoros player. She received immediate on-field treatment before being carried off on a stretcher and replaced by teammate Folashade Ijamilusi.\n\nAjibade’s injury was confirmed as a fibula fracture, according to PSG. The club indicated the operation would be performed by one of their specialist surgeons, after which she will commence rehabilitation under their medical team’s supervision. Initial French reports suggested the injury could sideline her for the remainder of 2026, but PSG has not disclosed a specific timeline for her return, which hinges on her recovery progress.\n\nThis setback marks a disappointing end to a promising period for Ajibade, who had been in impressive form, scoring goals in the UEFA Champions League and PSG’s recent 3-1 win over Fleury in the Arkema Première Ligue. She has tallied four goals across all competitions and has found the back of the net in two successive club matches.",
