"summary": "The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Faisal, the son of former Pension Reform Task Team chairman Abdulrasheed Maina, and handed him over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). According to security sources, Faisal's arrest was based on credible intelligence indicating his secret return to Nigeria. Faisal had been on the run since 2020 following his conviction and sentencing by the Federal High Court in Abuja to 14 years in prison for money laundering in October 2021. The court found that Faisal operated a fictitious bank account with United Bank for Africa, which was used to launder N58.1 million through his father's alleged wrongdoing. In November 2022, the Court of Appeal reduced Faisal's sentence to seven years, stating that the trial court had imposed the maximum sentence on a first-time offender.",
