"account": "The University of Ghana will resume operations for the 2026/2027 academic year on October 19, after the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) called off its strike, according to a notice dated October 16, 2026. Students are set to move into their residences from October 19, with lectures commencing on October 26. The decision to reopen was made by the Business and Executive Committee during a meeting on the same day. The university announced that bed allocations will be determined randomly on October 16, while fresh students will undergo orientation from October 21 to 23. The administration has encouraged students to fulfill their fee payments and complete their registration via the Students’ STS or DiGradsys portals. Compliance with registration procedures is crucial for a seamless reopening and the initiation of lectures. The university's return to normalcy comes after GAUA suspended its strike, which had caused disruptions in academic activities at the institution.",
