"account": "The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, has suspended its 50-day strike following the intervention of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. The ARD expressed its gratitude in a letter to the Chief of Staff to the governor, commending his timely intervention and statesmanship. The governor's visit to the hospital and a stakeholders' meeting held on October 15, 2026, were instrumental in resolving the issues that led to the strike. The ARD specifically commended the governor for approving the payment of 2025 Minimum Wage Arrears, directing the formation of a multi-stakeholder committee to implement the Professional Allowance Table, and ensuring the Medical Residency Training Act Bill is passed. Following these commitments, the ARD decided to suspend the strike for an initial period of eight weeks, with all resident doctors resuming full clinical duties on Saturday, October 17, 2026.",
