"account": "Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cautioned on October 16 that the U.S. diesel deal with Russia could lead to further sanctions relief for Moscow. Zelensky stated that easing sanctions could normalize relations with Russia, even though the latter showed no willingness to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine. The Ukrainian leader expressed his firm belief that gas deals would follow and sanctions on other areas would be lifted as well. Zelensky's primary concern was the fate of frozen Russian assets, which he believed would be at risk if the deal proceeded. European diplomats had previously informed Kyiv that Russia was seeking the release of frozen assets in exchange for agreeing to an energy ceasefire with Ukraine.",
