"summary": "The Press Council of India (PCI) has released new guidelines for journalists covering protests, emphasizing personal safety, professional neutrality, ethical reporting, and coordination with newsrooms and law enforcement agencies. The guidelines were issued in response to recent large-scale protests in Delhi, where journalists have been detained and subjected to violence. The PCI advises journalists to maintain a safe distance from confrontations, avoid attaching equipment to barricades, and carry an emergency kit containing first-aid supplies, personal medication, water, snacks, a torch, and protective eyewear. Journalists are also instructed to monitor crowd behaviour, identify escape routes, and adjust their plans as needed.",
