"summary": "President John Dramani Mahama has tasked the Office of the Presidential Adviser on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness (NAREP) with reviewing Ghana's disaster preparedness and emergency response systems in response to a series of recent floods, market fires, and other emergencies across the country. The review aims to inform a Comprehensive National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness Strategic Plan, which will focus on strengthening disaster prevention, emergency response, and recovery, while improving coordination among institutions responsible for managing disasters. The directive follows recent flooding in various parts of Accra and Hohoe, as well as fire outbreaks causing significant losses, particularly affecting traders, small business owners, and vulnerable households.",
