"summary": "MTN South Africa is incorporating an artificial intelligence (AI) layer into its LearnHub Plus education platform to provide learners with more personalized support and interactive learning assistance. This initiative, led by Storm Baatjies, senior specialist for new digital business at MTN SA, was unveiled at the Future Learning Labs 2026 hosted by Oxford University Press Africa. LearnHub Plus, a mobile-first digital education platform developed in partnership with Oxford University Press, aims to make curriculum-aligned learning resources more accessible and affordable for South African high school learners, offering digital textbooks, study guides, tutorials, video lessons, interactive learning activities, quizzes, revision materials, and 3D and VR models. The AI layer will be implemented with a focus on understanding rather than just generating answers, helping learners navigate educational content, identify knowledge gaps, and engage more closely with the curriculum. The AI functionality will also provide teachers and parents with insights into learners' strengths and areas of difficulty. However, the rollout is subject to stringent safeguards regarding AI accuracy, learner protection, and responsible use of educational content.",
