"account": "A former North West ANC regional treasurer was apprehended at OR Tambo International Airport in a fraud and corruption investigation linked to the Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality, according to police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe. The 49-year-old businessman was traveling with his family when he was arrested on Thursday night. Mathe revealed that the suspect is also facing charges for allegedly not showing up before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. The cold case unit flagged the individual over the municipal allegations, which are still under investigation. The unit became aware of his intention to leave the country and alerted the Commission’s Recommendations Task Team. The suspect was previously required to return to the Commission to provide further documentation but failed to do so, leading to a case being opened by the commission’s secretary. Police have dismissed rumors that the businessman was attempting to flee South Africa, stating that he had a return ticket. He is set to appear before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court regarding the commission-related charge.",
