"summary": "The National Environment Agency (NEA) has identified seven companies responsible for the haze fires affecting Singapore, according to Acting Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu. The companies, located in Sumatra, were traced through satellite imagery and meteorological data. NEA will issue preventive measure notices under the Transboundary Haze Pollution Act (THPA), requiring these firms to deploy firefighting personnel, stop any burning, and submit action plans to extinguish the fires and prevent recurrence. The government will share the list of companies with the public later. Fu emphasized that NEA is committed to investigating all responsible companies and may issue notices to more firms if necessary. Acting Minister for Manpower Jasmin Lau reminded employers of their legal obligations to protect workers from the haze, providing guidelines for reducing outdoor work and providing N95 masks when necessary.",
