"account": "Streaming personality iShowSpeed has become an additional producer alongside former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama for the documentary \"The Eyes of Ghana,\" which chronicles veteran Ghanaian cinematographer Rev. Dr. Chris Tsui Hesse. The 90-minute film, directed by Academy Award-winning Ben Proudfoot, premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival and will be screened in select North American theaters on October 28, 2026. iShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins, joined the project after visiting Ghana this year, where he connected with the country's rich history. His participation aims to introduce Hesse's story to his global audience of over 200 million followers. Hesse's mission has involved preserving over 1,000 reels of historical footage that document Ghana's independence and the broader African liberation movement from the 1950s to the 1960s, as well as safeguarding crucial materials from the Congo Crisis in 1960. The documentary follows Hesse's efforts to ensure that his work remains accessible to the public, having recently screened a collection of his films at Accra's Rex Cinema. The Obama family's Higher Ground production company is supporting the film's release, emphasizing the importance of preserving collective memory through cinema.",
