"account": "Sarawak's Deputy Premier Douglas Uggah Embas announced that 129 mission schools across the region have been granted a total of RM20 million through the Mission School Financial Assistance Grant. This investment aims to upgrade and improve the facilities at these institutions. The funds were distributed via six mission authorities under the first phase of the initiative. The allocation is part of the RM30 million earmarked by the Sarawak government for 2026, marking a RM10 million increase from the previous year. The remaining RM10 million will be allocated towards enhancing academic performance in mission schools, with a particular focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, English language proficiency, and Mathematics mastery. Additionally, efforts will be made to improve basic reading and counting skills for students in these schools. Premier Abang Johari Openg presented the cheques to representatives of the mission schools, expressing hope that now that free tertiary education is available, students from these schools will also have the chance to benefit from this opportunity.",
